IMPORTANT POINTS

        -- " WHIPLASH " AUTO INJURIES ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER INJURIES....HERE'S WHY --

Point #1    Whiplash injuries have nothing to do with having "broken bones"...or....bleeding.  In other words,  just because there was NO BLOOD in your car....that does NOT mean you weren't INJURED from your car accident.

Point #2     PAIN and other SYMPTOMS from your car accident are not caused from having "broken bones"...or...a "bad DISC".  To properly treat a patient who has suffered a WHIPLASH  injury from a car accident----it's not enough to treat just the PAIN.  There is also nerve damage, soft tissue damage, muscle spasm, inflammation, scar tissue, and a loss of body function... which all affect a person's normal Activities of Daily Living----ie. BENDING, LIFTING, ABILITY TO TURN YOUR NECK, ABILITY TO DRESS OR BATHE, ABILITY TO DO HOUSEWORK, ABILITY TO DO YOUR JOB, ABILITY TO DRIVE A CAR, and your ABILITY TO LEAD A NORMAL LIFE.  To rehabilitate a "whiplash" type injury from an auto accident----it's not about ONLY treating your PAIN.  That alone will not fix your problem.

Point #3     A "whiplash" injury has nothing to do with having a "bad" DISC in your neck or back (like a ruptured disc).  Disc injuries that cause a ruptured disc are from lifting and twisting movements---and not associated with car accident "whiplash" injuries.  They are NOT the same.

Point #4     A "whiplash" injury involves PINCHED NERVES, NUMBNESS, INFLAMMATION, SCAR TISSUE, FACET CAPSULE TEARING & JAMMING, TISSUE SWELLING, BIOMECHANICAL JOINT DYSFUNCTION, LIGAMENT STRETCHING & TEARING, AND MUSCLE SPASMS with MUSCLE GUARDING---and is NOT related to having broken bones... bleeding...or from having a "bad disc". 

Point #5     Symptoms usually do not show up until WEEKS...or....even MONTHS after your accident.  This is due to the slow BUILD UP of scar tissue and tissue inflammation over time (weeks or months). That is why your insurance company will CALL you right after your car wreck---BEFORE you start having problems---hoping you will tell them you were "not injured".

Point #6     As a follow up to point #5 above...your insurance company will CALL YOU and ask you for a recorded statement---asking you if you were INJURED.  Until you are properly   < checked out > by an AUTO ACCIDENT INJURY SPECIALIST....such as Dr. Alampi,  just advise them you are going to see a DOCTOR to find out.  Then....tell them that you have a LAWYER---and they will not call you anymore.

Point #7     Your insurance company is NOT your friend, especially when you've had a car accident. They do not CARE about your injuries---their only concern is about not having to spend any MONEY for your doctor bills.  BELIEVE IT....your own insurance company is not your "friend" after you've had an accident.  So....make sure that you have a LAWYER---so you get your NO-FAULT BENEFITS paid---for doctor bills and other expenses related to your car accident....such as transportation.

Point #8     Your lawyer may ask you to go for an MRI.  An MRI is useless for diagnosing a "whiplash" injury.  99% of the time...an MRI will show nothing--because MRI's are used to diagnose a ruptured disc-- and a ruptured disc is not typically seen with a "whiplash" injury.  Also...if your MRI comes back NEGATIVE...and doesn't show anything---like a herniated or ruptured disc---the insurance company may try to say that you were not INJURED from your car accident. 

Point #9     Hospitals do not treat "whiplash" injuries.  They only treat for broken bones and bleeding--which are not seen in a typical "whiplash" type injury.  They will probably prescribe Flexeril ( a muscle relaxer ) and then refer you for physical therapy.  However, a physical therapy clinic will NOT treat your pinched nerves, scar tissue, inflammation, facet joint damage, muscle spasm, or spinal joint dysfunction---caused from your auto accident.  OUR OFFICE WILL.

Point #10    Hospital doctors and/or physical therapy clinics will NOT testify for you in court---as an EXPERT WITNESS--to document your injuries from your auto accident.  OUR OFFICE WILL.           

Point #11    Do not be fooled by offices that only offer LASER  "pain treatments" !!   PAIN from a "whiplash" auto injury is a sign of something much more serious.  LASER  PAIN TREATMENTS will NOT FIX a "whiplash" injury from a car accident.  LASER PAIN TREATMENTS will NOT FIX your injured spine, or your nerve damage (pinched nerves), or herniated discs, or  bulging discs , or a concussion (brain injury)-- caused from a car accident.
